Well, ok, not an ode. I was just thinking about mid-bosses (That's the Dark Adonis, Vy...) and what they add to a game...often they can be some of the most memorable characters...

Some of my favorites, in no particular order (I may make a poll)

Sho Minamoto (The World Ends With You)
Mid-Boss (Disgaea)
The Turks (Final Fantasy 7)
Gilgamesh (Final Fantasy 5)
Revolver Ocelot (Metal Gear Solid)

They're all cool for different reasons...be they signifigant antagonist or just plain comic relief, but even though they tend to step aside for the final battle, you'll never forget they were there.
